The online Educational Leadership Ed.D. program at UM targets seasoned professionals aiming to elevate their careers across sectors like K-12, academia, and beyond. It melds theory with practical inquiry, preparing graduates to tackle intricate problems, influence organizational culture, foster sustainable solutions, and enhance leadership for transformative change. The curriculum is delivered via collaborative online sessions led by expert educators and researchers.

Supplemental Items
- Three professional recommendations, including one from a current supervisor
- Statement of purpose and goals of no more than 1,000 words that addresses the following: (a) the applicant’s rationale for applying for the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, (b) explanation of how the program aligns with their purpose, and (c) a statement regarding career and professional goals
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
- Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges/universities
*The doctoral program in Educational Leadership is a total of 60 credit hours. Students may apply select credit from their Educational Specialist program based on a pre-admission transcript review. To begin the transcript review process, please submit your Ed.D. application and select “yes” in the section asking if you are interested in transfer credit.
*The Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership is NOT included in the Montevallo Educators’ Partnership (MEP).
Tuition: $498 per credit hour, plus books and fees
